Common questions
Review says a product is blocked. What do I do?
The review lists each blocked row and the reason, for example a price that isn’t a number. Fix those rows in your file and review again. Nothing in your store changes until you start the import.
“No parent row for parent SKU …”
In the “SKU and parent SKU” variant format, every parent SKU needs a row of its own whose SKU is that value. Add the parent row, or pick the variant format that matches your file on Map fields.
“Shopify category … was not found”
Shopify only accepts categories from its product taxonomy. On Map fields, open Map category values and match each value in your file, such as “Men”, to a Shopify category.
My URL returns “an HTML page, not a CSV file”.
The link opens a web page instead of the file. Use a direct download link, and add a username and password under Add authentication if the file is protected.
The SFTP server key changed.
The first connection records the server’s key, and later connections must match it. If your host changed the server on purpose, connect again from the FTP or SFTP tab to record the new key.
Will running an import again create duplicates?
No. Products an import created are updated in place when it runs again, including scheduled runs.
How do I import a newer version of a file on a schedule?
Schedules for a URL, FTP, FTPS or SFTP source download the latest file on each run. Schedules for an uploaded file reuse that file; upload the new version and create a new schedule.
